The Bible says in I John 5:13- These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
God would not say that we could KNOW if it wasn’t true. Romans 3:4 says “Yea, let God be true and every man a liar.” It doesn’t matter what you were taught, it is what God says in His Holy Word! SO WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY THAT YOU NEED TO KNOW OR DO TO GET TO HEAVEN?
1) You are a SINNER!
For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23. Everybody from the Pope to the President has SINNED! If you have lied that is a sin. If you have ever disobeyed that is a sin. You are a SINNER, and so am I. Do you know that?
2) Sin has a Price!
For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23. The punishment that you have to take for your sins, is DEATH IN THE LAKE OF FIRE. Revelation 20:13… God can’t allow sin into heaven, so when you sin, and you have sinned, because everyone has, then you are bound for Hell.
However………. there is a way of escape.
3) Jesus Christ paid for your sins.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yets sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8. God’s only Son Jesus Christ was beaten, spit upon, nailed to a cross, and left to die, so YOU wouldn’t have to take your punishment in the lake of fire, HELL. He did this for your sin. Not his own, because he did no wrong, he was the perfect, sinless Son of God. God loved you so much that He gave His only Son, HIS VERY BEST!! But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord Romans 6:23. You can’t earn it or work for it or be good enough to get into heaven. It has already been paid for by Jesus death. All you can do is accept God’s gift to you.
4) How do I receive God’s gift of his Son dying for my sins?
All you have to do is believe this. Then you can confess with your mouth. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9. All you have to do is, talk with your mouth right now to the Lord, and tell him that you believe that He died on the cross to pay for your sins, and that you accept his free gift. Ask him to come into your life and be your savior. Like it says above…. Romans 10:9- For whosoever (are you a whosoever?) shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. That means you! Did you call on him? If you did and believed that he died for your sins and rose again the third day, then you are saved, because God can’t lie. And that is what He tells you in his Word, the Bible.
WHAT DO I DO AFTER I GET SAVED?
First of all you need to find a good Bible believing church and go faithfully. Every time the church has service, you be there, ready to worship the Lord.
Next you should read your Bible everyday. The Bible is God’s way of talking to you. He tells you how He wants you to live in the Bible, and after you receive His gift, He is your Lord, and you need to live like He wants you to live.
Next, you should pray everyday and talk to Him. How can He be your friend, and help you if you never talk to him? He loves you and wants you to talk to him daily. You might not know what to say at first, but keep it up anyways, it will get easier.
Then tell others what Jesus has done for you.
